| My painter who will be staining our new deck says he uses Porter. I don't think I've ever read here about Porter nor seen it on a list of best stains. Any opinions from the experts? We think we want to use semi-transparent. Any opinions on that?
I certainly should be able to have him use whichever bran we wish, shouldn't I? |

| I would think you could pick but of course if you trust a painter enough to hire him to do your painting and is know as a quality painter with a solid reputation and solid references then I would at the very least listen to his recommendations. Not saying you have to agree and use his brand but.... Also Porter is a PPG product so I would assume they are a quality product |
