The stairs on the front of our house are open to the space under the porch. We are going to close them in with wood, but I wonder if faux brick or stone could be used. Would that look ok?

I really like the look of this, but I assume the stairs are solid, real brick. I don't think brick is practical for us, though because we get so much snow and ice.
