So i have a worn out old porch that i need to rebuild. The house is about 100yr old foursquare/federal/colonial/beaux arts style. Right now it is just roofing material on the porch that has failed above the closed in downstairs patio that is now a sunroom/ my pantry. I like the idea of doing a staimed redwood or cedar patio but it has to be water proof underneath. What do you guys think? Here are pics.

The rest of house. http://s1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj541/rkba84/house

Your project looks perfect for the Ipe decking tiles. You should re coat the roofing before you install the tiles. Ive found Advantage trim and lumber has the best pricing on the Ipe decking tiles. They install really easy and quickly. The Ipe is going to be a beautiful brown with a red tint.
