I've gotten a couple quotes on installing a screen room for my house and wanted some unbiased opinions on which might be better. They both use similar equipment for what I want but the main difference is how they plan to attach it to my house.

The first guy said he will attach it from the soffet (sp?) as he doesn't like to mess with the shingles and it will angle down from there. I called him after the second quote to double check how he installed it cause I was confused LOL, but he said he's never had a problem with leaking. His quote was 7500.

The second guy said he would attach it about 3 feet I think it was into the roofing, I believe he mentioned overlapping the shingles, so there wouldn't be any issues with leaking. He stated just attaching to the soffet (sp?) could cause issues with an older roof. His quote was 8300.

From y'alls experiences which way is right? or better? Thanks for any info you can share!
