Behr acrylic 3/5 semi-transparent deck stain?

Hi, Maybe the gurus here will give me some tips pls.?

we want to put a transparent stain with a tint on a small deck and our guy recommends Behr semi-transparent 3/5 year guarantee stain from home depot. He brought me a sample of our color applied to a board but the stain looked really thick to me.

Is there a way to thin this stain, or is there another stain that will allow more of the grain and color of the wood to show thru??

Any help please would be appreciated. He wants a stain choice by tomorrow morning but I'm trying to put him off a bit.

Do Not Use Anything with Behr on the can far as outside finish goes. X 10000 with acrylic. Read the fine print on that 3/5 year thing.

Behr not use behr. I made the mistake of using it although it was solid color stain, not semi- transparent, and it reaks! If you are judging behr by it's consumer reports ratings, dont. They are misleading!

Your guy is a bozo. Professional painters do not use Home Depot. Red flag if your painter does not have an account at a paint store.
