green wood deck preservative - how long will it be green?

Hi all,

We are installing a new deck and put a coat of Copper-Green wood preservative on all the boards. I didnt really realize exactly just HOW GREEN it would be. I was hoping to put a coat of clear finish on the wood so that you could appreciate the true color of the redwood, but now its GREEN! It says on the container that it fades over time. Does anyone know how long it takes to fade (we are in So. Cal. and the deck is on the east side of the house so gets sun until 1-2pm) and if it ever COMPLETELY fades or if it still stays a slight shade of green?

Tell me you did not put #10 copper green on redwood decking. Now that I think about it dont tell me if you did. J.
