I thought I would share some photos of an alternate porch building material. I was lucky enough to find some fiberglass material that was ordered for a commercial project that fell through. I think it's available..maybe try Googling for fiberglass beams....but I hear it's really costly.

My posts are 6"x6", the stringers are 6" I-beams, and the decking is 3' wide walkway material with a uv resistant non-slip factory coating. I haven't decided what to do for railing yet and I'm letting the posts stay extra tall until I decide if I want to add a roof or cross member for hanging plants or a shade. Comments or ideas for moving forward will be great!
