I found sample stain kits at www.Woodrich-Brand.com. They offer four natural colors from a "honey" gold to a "western" red cedar. I think my personal favorite is the Amaretto. I think it looks most natural on Ipe but it would probably look great on cedar and other wood too. We wanted to go with a natural look and just finish our deck with a clear sealer but we learned (researching these forums, Thanks!) that without pigment in the sealer the wood will turn grey or silver pretty quickly from UV damage or "sun burn." I was so happy to find a stain color that wouldn't change the natural color of our wood Now if I can convince my hubby to go this route rather than "painting" the wood white my deck will be beautiful. |

| I was in the same boat with my garapa and woodrich stains...I finally had a "it's only a deck" moment and just ordered the amaretto without samples or many web photos. It looks awesome. |
