I just had a deck built with TimberTech White railings.
They are sturdy and have a presence about them. The posts are larger than in your picture. I'm very happy with the way they look.

ok, my fault. I need to be more precise. I already have a basic wooden deck. I simply want to paint/ stain it now. I used the picture just to show the color scheme I'd like to have. Any advice on what to use for the white (paint vs. stain)?

Go to a paint store & talk to the guys at the counter. Tell what you want & what kind of wood you have, ect. & I'm sure they can fix you up.

Go with white stain. We did two coats and it looks like we painted them white. Our deck portion is desert sand stain and the railings and posts are stained white. You never have to scrape to repaint.

It has been 7 years. Could you tell me what you did with your deck railing? Did you stain it white? How did it come out and hold up? I want to stain my pressure treated handrail an off-white. We have been using a taupe semi-transparent on the decking and I think that would be more forgiving to mold and dirt if I used it also on the railing. But I really want the off-white for the contrast and a more traditional look. I did paint a very small side p.t. deck handrail many years ago and it does require way more maintenance than I hoped for. So that is why I am looking to stain not paint this time around.

Also if you had success, would you recommend a product?
