We just put a new deck floor down and now must restain the entire deck as the spindles and posts are already stained and we cannot match it. I need help with what colour to stain it. I have attached the colour of the house bricks - please help!

RE: Help With Deck Stain Colour!

Any REAL paint store (e.g. Benjamin Moore, or Sherwin Williams) should be able to match your existing paint or stain.

To match the color, you would need to provide a good sample of the paint or stain, as it looks on the existing surface. When matching colors, you can't match to the original color (e.g. an original paint swatch) because the original paint has faded & aged over time.

Also, Benjamin Moore & Sherwin Williams provide excellent on-line tools to help you choose colors.

If you want to go with a new color, it's really depends on your personal tastes. Neutral colors are usually a good choice.
