anyone have a natural gas 'convenience outlet'?

I have a quick-connect gas connection on the back of my house that the builder put on 15+ years ago, which is now rusting out. It is connected through the crawl space with that yellow flex tubing. I have been looking for something less rust-prone and have found some gas "convenience outlets" that have a quick-connect inside and you can connect grills, heaters, etc, and the metal is protected inside.

has anyone had experience with these? are they worth it over just doing another stub-out quick connect?

i also am wondering about how they would mount on vinyl siding. the current one was just stuck through a hole drilled through the siding... not so nice. about 12 inches away, i recently removed a water supply from one of those white blocks that are supposed to be used for mounting things through vinyl siding, and am wondering if that would be good to use for this.

thanks,

lisa
