| I want to install a lattice under my deck , but it is cantilevered, so I cannot use the main deck posts for the frame as I have seen recommended at many of the DIY websites. I am thinking of dropping 2x4's from the deck joists, every 4 feet, and attaching a horizontal 2x4 at the bottom of these hangers. My only concern is that the lattice frame would then just be "hanging" from the deck, but would not be connected to the deck structure at the bottom. Then again, it's only lattice -- not very heavy and not load-bearing. Any comments or other ideas would be much appreciated. |

| You could also attach 2x4s from the base of the posts to the bottom of the horizontal frame that you add. That would make it a little sturdier. |
