You could give it away on freecycle, Craig's List, bookoo.com, etc. If no one wants it, it certainly won't hurt anything to put it on top of the ground under your deck. If your soil is clay, you might want to till the sand into it, to improve drainage.

Or use it as an excuse to build a paver walkway. :-)

LOL Weedyacres! A walkway from the deck to the patio has been discussed :) I just don't know if I can take one more project on my list! I've been building my Ipe deck for way too long now (and it's only 15x8!!). A family issue took me away from working on it for close to a month. But I'm back at it and its moving along now.

I just wanted to make sure putting the sand under the deck wouldn't invite problems. I guess if the walkway doesn't happen, I'll do that.

I've been following your deck build thread. Wow! Puts my project to shame. I can't imagine how overwhelmed I'd feel with a project that size. Good for you.......it's coming along GREAT! Please keep the updates coming.
