Porch - paint or stain the ceiling

Hi there - We are planning a three-season porch out our dining room and are in the midst of deciding some of the details. Looking at a cedar floor, Sunspace windows, and a bead-board ceiling with corner gas fireplace. I've been playing with photoshop to visualize the space, but can't decide whether to go with a stained fir bead-board or painted bead-board ceiling. Will the space seem 'dark' with a stained ceiling? Would love your thoughts/experience!
