I moved to a modern ranch house with no porch, no patio etc. I would like to have a front porch built but I am not sure if it is feasible. The front of the house has a bay window and a concrete staircase to the front door. I guess this would have to be removed if a porch was built. As for the back... I would like to have a sliding door & patio, but there is a baseboard hot water unit along the dining room wall where the door would go. I will probably hire a contractor or carpenter for these jobs but in the meantime I wonder if anyone has any suggestions, pictures, ideas or input.
