restoring & staining a redwood play set

I am restoring a large, high quality redwoood play set similar to the link at the bottom of this message. It is about 8 years old, most of the existing stain has worn off, and some of the wood is fairly weathered.

I am in the process of sanding down all of the pieces to 120 grit and the bare wood is in great shape for the most part (see photo below). I plan to stain all of the wood and have heard good things about TWP. Should I do anything else to the bare wood after sanding and before staining? I would like to get a lot of years out of this -- would TWP 100 or 1500 be a good choice, and how often would I need to reapply?

Thanks.
