Porch/Deck Railing option to match French Gothic Picket Fence

We are building a 6 X 6 landing and stairs to get from our front door to the street level of our house. There is currently a picket fence around our front yard that has French Gothic Pickets painted white.

Any suggestions for railing options / looks that would match the French Gothic style that we can use as a railing around the landing at the front door and down the stairs?

Should we cut off the tops of the french gothic pickets and use a plain flat board as pickets on our new landing/railing?

Our house has a craftsman type front door and dental moulding over the garage door if that helps.

Here is a link to what our fence looks like, except that pickets are level.
