I'll be coating a 3 yr old redwood deck after stripping the original hvy body stain off. Sikkens Cetol is highy recommended but I'm resistant to the Cetol DEK finish, which seems more like varnish to me. The 2 yr recoat instructions for it seem to require full sanding. The Cetol SRD finish that is more like semitrans oil stain and can be refreshed yearly with just cleaning. Plus the DEK is almost x2 cost of the SRD finish. The deck takes a solar beating here at 4500 ft elevation. Experiences with either product would be appreciated.
