Top rail question

I installed cable rails on a new deck. I used 6x6 cedar posts, with a 2x6 PT top rail. I'm really happy with the railings with one exception. The top rail is taking a beating from the sun. It is stained, but it is starting to check. At mid day, it is scorching hot (the top rail is positioned horizontally so that the 6" dimension is the top). I would like to cover the top rail with some sort of cap, either powder coated aluminum or PVC as a buffer to the sun and something that does not require as much maintenance. Something like a C Channel with 1" or so legs to put over the top rail. Does something like this exist?
