how to protect my wooden deck

Hi,

I have a wooden deck that I have ignored for 4 yrs.

The stain is fading and it's no longer sealed.

I don't know the color of the stain and the color is also on the ceiling of this deck.

How do I remove the stain w/out so much work behind it? I have to deal with the stain on the ceiling/trellis. How do I remove the stain (whatever is left over) and put the new stain? Hope it's not too pain full. Thanks in advance.

My deck is very close to the once listed on the link below except mine has a faded stain on it.
