The joist hangers in my deck renovation are not nailed as seems to be required. There should be 3" galvanized nails that would penetrate the joist and to into the ledger board. The holes on the hanger are not big enough to permit this angled nailing. The new decking goes on Monday so this is my last chance to remedy the nailing. It isn't great but what would you think of slightly enlarging the nailing hole by drilling it enough to permit a nail to be properly angled?
