| Thank you to Aidan_m on directing me to what post base to use for a wood deck. I read the instructions and I'm to sink the post base into some concrete. The deck footprint I'm looking at would have one corner (where a post base would go) pretty much adjacent to a retaining wall. That retaining wall is used for a basement window egress. How close can I go to the retaining wall (which is railway ties) with the concrete base? |

| I ran into just this and my code inspector said just close enough that you don't knock the wall down digging the hole. YMMV. |
