What type of wood is your deck, new or old, what type of stain (brand, etc), what type of prep was done before staining? Picture may help as well.

heres a pic,used stain and waterproofing tan color.

looked like before,,should i wait and start over? should i use a solid stain?should i pressure wash and start over?have till tuesday.pls help ty ozzy

2) What exact brand/type of stain(s) &/or waterproofer(s) were used...& in what order?!??!

3) Post a pic of those cans too.

4) Has the deck floor ever been sanded?

behr stain and waterproofing,its been sandede and left like that since last yr.

it was told to me it was washed and swept.no sealer was put on.it took 3 gals to do the deck railings.i know it wasnt prep properly it took alot of stain just soaked it up.ill get the pic from home depot.a green can is all i remember...

Still tryin' to make sense of your phrasings, but here goes...

* I'm assuming the 1st pic shows the stained deck with rainwater on it...
* Stain looks VERY uneven, so it either wasn't really sanded, or done very poorly.
* The b4 pic is too blurry...it could've been p-w'd too harshly.
* Bottom-line....if it was sanded correctly, it would look better than new.
* Check out my sanding-pic thread on this forum. Search also on the Paint forum here too. This summer, my Redwood deck is 17 y/o.
* Because of correct sanding every few years, it looks better than most FIVE y/o decks I've seen...
* DO NOT PUT A 2ND COAT on it. It'll look worse.

And when you are doing to stain something go to a real paint store and get a real product not a poor product from a box store!!!

If it's been a year since it was sanded, then that is also part of the problem. If I'm looking at the pics correctly, you can see the difference in surface finish in your before pic.......look at the corner with white trim. In the after, you see the same problem.
