Too much penofin

So, I hired a guy to apply Penofin to our tigerwood deck, and he did not wipe off the excess. --I will refrain from commenting ... I was out of town ... duh ...-- The entire deck isn't sticky, but there are shiny patches on most of the boards. The Penofin site says to use Pro Tech cleaner to clean an overapplication, then wait 2 days and reseal. It also said Stripper can be used for tough jobs.

I cleaned a patch, and it did seem to help, but not totally. My question is, What happens if we just leave it like it is? The deck is on the western side of our house, and we are in Colorado, so it gets tons of sun, and needs to be sealed every year (probably could use it more). Will it fade fairly normally? Will the shiny patches do anything different? Just wondering if we should wait and let nature strip it, I guess. WIll it hang onto dirt and pollen etc more than a matte deck?
