Are any of these woods not recommended for a rooftop deck that will have 2-3" of clearance? My 12 year old cedar deck rotted to dust basically - there's no good way to get ventilation or more clearance due to the roof/parapet wall design. I like the looks of all 3 so I am trying to think of a reason not to go with Tigerwood or Massaranduba to save a few thousand bucks over Ipe.
I'll be installing myself so are any of the 3 easier/harder to work with? Everything I have read saying Ipe is the most difficult but there isn't much data out there for the installation of Massaranduba and Tigerwood.
Maintenance - which hold stain the best? Do they all look pretty much the same when left untreated (grayed out)?
