coat support beams for carpenter bees?

I received my 9000+ pound shipment of Ipe and have it stacked to air dry. Will be resurfacing old deck. Deck has carpenter bee problems, primarily on old face boards (which will be replaced with IPE). My concern is bees attacking existing old PT wood in superstructure. Is there any coating that it make sense to apply to prevent or reduce carpenter bee problems?

Zver11, I had a carpenter bee problem in my shed and I panted the critical areas with driveway sealer, looks like crap, but no bee problem for about 5 or 6 years now. I tried the same thing out where the sun could hit it and it scaled of in just 2 or 3 years. I have heard that plain house paint would work, but I was looking for something cheap and did not care how it looked.
