Staining Oak Boards for Glider

I would like to know which brand of stain is the best to use outdoors on new Oak boards for my glider which will be in all types of weather. It will see about 75% sun.

I live in Ohio and it will see Winter out door weather also.
Should I stain them on all 4 sides?
How many coats of stain should I put on them?
What pre-oup should be now?
What stain brand stands behind there product?
