Pierdex/ Gratedex or similar system for rooftop

Hi. We have a 600 sq. ft. rooftop deck in Cleveland. The roof is sloped for drainage and covered with a rubber membrane for waterproofing. We would like to install a new deck over the membrane. The current deck is Fiberon (composite) over a sleeper system. Long story short, we want to take it all off and start again.

We would like to use porcelain tiles that are rated for exterior flooring. One of the only systems we can find that allows us to use tiles of our choice and have the final deck surface be level (not sloped) is www.pierdex.com. Its a fiberglass grate supported on pedestals. The grate serves as a substrate for the tiles which are not grouted to allow for drainage. The tiles are bonded to the grid with an elastomeric "tar". It is very expensive and I wonder if anyone can comment on any experience with the system or any obvious flaws they see with the product.

We are wondering if a generic system would work just as well.

Appreciate any feedback, its a big decision. Thanks,
