use stamped concrete as edging

Wanting to use stamped concrete as edging on my raised paver patio. The concrete would be about 10 inches wide, not should about the depth. The reason for this is because the area for this patio can have sitting water if we get a lot of rain. I live in northern Illinois. Any comments?
