| The house/garage surrounds most of three sides of my deck, possibly leading to higher humidity underneath due to poor ventilation dynamics. The existing PT decking appears to have expanded and failed possibly due to this. I'm planning on replacing with massaranduba and increase the spacing to 3/16" from the recommended 1/8", as well as opening the sides up as much as possible. As long as no one with high heels will be walking on the deck, does this sound like a good plan? Anyone have experience with massaranduba shrinking?? |
