Screen porch cost

Wondering if the estimate we have for a screen porch sounds reasonable to the experts out there. Current 14X22 deck is being removed and footers to be used and extended slightly to construct a 16x22 screen porch, with an additional 6x10 section of outside decking. Azek decking to be used, shingled, gable roof to be attached/flashed to brick house, vaulted ceiling, 2 skylights, 2x2 balusters/railing all the way around, wired for electrical outlets and wall sconces, and 2 ceiling fans. Also, additional footers to be installed due to current 19" centers. Estimate is around $27,000 for the project, which seems high to me. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

The price isn't bad but I was just curious as to why the railings? Why not a knee wall about 36" high with the screen sitting on top of same wall.

The reason our contractor recommended the railings/ballisters over the knee wall, which I asked about, was for a better view of the yard and more open feeling in general. Thanks!

You didn't say where you are, but here in No. VA you're at least $10K low.

I'd opt for a kneewall over rails regardless of view. Even sitting you can see over it. Seems much more functional for a screened porch for a lot of reasons, screening less likely to get knocked off, place to set things on, place for electrical, ect.
