Greetings!

Quick question about an upcoming project. I have about 3 feet of open space from the deck to ground and want to put up lattice (and ultimately a flowerbed around the deck)

Both ends of the U shaped deck come back to the house but under the deck there arenÂt any wooden posts along the foundation. It is all cement blocks under the deck.

I want to first put up a 2x4 frame for the lattice but I really need to know if it's ok to run a 2x4 along the cement wall vertically? I would attach the vertical 2x4 to the horizontal 2x4, so nothing will be attached to the cement, but just want to double check that there aren't any issues with putting up the vertical 2x4's along the house?

To keep the uniformed look all the way around the deck, it would be great if it's ok to do that.
