low voltage lighting for READING

My deck has an existing low voltage lighting system built in by the previous owner. I'd like to extend the system by adding a lamp that is bright enough for reading so I can stay on the deck and read after dark.

Is anyone familiar with anything that would work for this situation? I've found floodlights that are bright enough (40W-50W) to work, but they're not really ideal for use as a reading lamp. I'd like something that is more like a traditional floor lamp, or possibly a wall mounted fixture.

Alternatively, do you think that a strand of low voltage rope lights would work?

Incidentally, I realize that I might need to replace my transformer in order to drive a higher wattage reading light in addition to my existing lights.

thanks!
