I've been researching this same situation. I wanted a covered front porch for our remodel but it didn't work with the layout. Anyway I have a space that I wanted to be porch-like. It is uncovered an exposed to temperature freezing and sun bleaching. I found a product called AERATIS . It is the only tongue and groove porch flooring that looks like wood. They sent me three samples ... cedar, weathered gray and unfinished which can be painted by me with any color porch paint. ( I think you have to use BM or Behr paint for the warranty.) It seems ideal for historical type homes. My home is not.
I really like the way it looks. The carpenters have not installed it yet. I need help with the color.

Anyway if you send away for samples they also sent me a coupon for a dollar off each board. It is kind of expensive in comparison to some stuff. I found it the cheapest through the order desk at Home Depot. If you got the cedar you would not have to paint it.
