I need opinions on putting in a flagstone patio or floating deck in front of the large bay window. There is a large sugar maple within 14' of the house. On the right side in front of the door will be a 16x16 screened in porch. I would prefer a flagstone patio, in order to get the chairs out of the view of the window. I'm concerned that it may damage the tree more. Even a floating deck will raise the chairs at least 8-10" flagstone w/o digging down 4-5"?? The house is on a lake in northe east tn so the view is important. Thanks for all opinions.
