How to build arch front steps...

Posted by lizinnh (My Page) on

We want to tear down the brick steps as they are original to the house and crumbling. We would like to replace it with arched front steps rather than straight steps as it is a central focal point to the house. Any insight on how to do it? We want this kind of a look but with wood.

You will need to splice wood together. Smaller pieces cut at an angle and connected edge wise to mimic the circles arc. And you though you would never use trigonometry. This will be challenge to do. Structure will need to be level and sound. Butt joints don't take alot of abuse.
