I need to make a decision

We had a cover put over our deck last year and I absolutely love it. Now I have to decide how to finish it. I've read about the vinyl beadboard, but when I ask about it around here, people look at me like I'm from Mars and just shake their heads. So, I'm looking for ideas and comments on maintenance and such. Any help would be appreciated.

I like the look of this, but wonder how much maintenance it would be.

The last picture seems to show some kind of cedar beadboard. No reason you couldn't use that if that's the look you want. There's not much maintenance.

Well, I'm at a loss about what to do now. I'm told I probably don't want butt joints, but all the materials I've asked about only come in 16' lengths and we need 18'. I even found a lumber yard who carries the vinyl, but they say it only comes in 16' lengths. Any ideas? I'm open to any suggestions about how to finish this ceiling.
