Adding a concrete patio when doing stoop repair

This spring, we're going to have our front stoop, as well as a considerable portion of our front sidewalk, replaced due to significant cracking and crumbling. Our back stoop is in a relatively poor state too, so we'll likely have that repaired or replaced as well. We are considering also having a concrete patio added to the backyard as part of this project. I have three questions on this:

1) Does anyone have an extremely rough idea of the cost of adding a, say, 12X16 concrete patio when doing this larger job already? I'm hoping to budget the entire thing for around $5,000. I'm in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

2) What do you think of concrete patios? Good? Bad? We have a 1922 bungalow.

3) The alternative to adding the concrete patio is knocking out the backyard stoop and putting in a wood deck. How much more would you be willing to spend for the wood deck v. concrete patio?

Thanks!

I'm going to get my patio which is about your size done and my whole driveway. This going to run me around 5600 so I think yours should be cheaper. I live in Missouri
