| Just got a quote for a 304 sqft patio - 10k. Mid price pavers. Apparently it's because our back yard has a slight slope and our yard is fenced - he wants to pull it up and re-install it. Is this normal? Obviously we'll be getting other quotes, just worried that they'll all come back the same! |

| Quotes for my level 190 sq ft paver patio were running $3,000 to $4,000. Geographical location could also makes a difference due to local labor costs. |
|
| Depending on the slope, this could be reasonable. Does the contractor have to build a small retaining wall to hold up the patio at the lower edge? This is where pavers stop being cheap. When doing brick or flagstone on a new concrete slab, the contractor can often make up the elevation difference with a turndown slab, then backfill around the edge and grade it off. With pavers you need to do something to hold in all that base material. |
