I would prefer the simple look with metal but open to metal and wood combination. I have found several company's to make custom railings out of metal or metal with cable but the cost is too much. That is why I am trying to find a nice prefab railing. Thank you in advance for any ideas.

Hmmmmm a 50 ' balcony. Is that 50 ' high or 50' long.

Whatever, how is it there is no railing around that thing now? Keeping the costs down on an upstairs deck rail system is a bad idea. Thats the last thing you want to go cheep on.

Try Pro-built aluminum out of vancouver. You will have to do the end cuts but it was designed for installation for homeowners and the do it your self person. Custom cut to your measurements without any cuts on your part will be expensive and not worth the trouble, because things can easily get lost in the translation, and than who pays for those mistakes. You can rent a mitre box from home depot.
