I have an old redwood deck that is about 12' X 75'. I saw a show on This Old House where they used deck tiles with an interlocking back feature to restore an old deck. That looked so easy so I tried to find what I want online. I like the dark red surface that you get with Brazilian Redwood. Does anyone here know where I could get that combination? I couldn't find it. I did read that the BR is very heavy so shipping might be a cost issue. I live on the West Coast (Eastern Washington).

I think you need a good contractor. One who will understand what you want and will get it for you for less. I'm new to this whole Decking subject because we just bought a house with a pool deck (huge) a boat deck (extra huge) and a lot of deck/like wooden walkways. All these things are rotting. Our contractor proved to us that pressure treated wood lasts as long as the composites at half the price, and the maintenance is like every 10 years. SOLD!

I saw that episode. This looks like what they used. On second thought. The sections on TOH had a plastic backing, so this isn't exactly the same.

cig, That is exactly the tile I am talking about. Do you know anything about it. The wood I like they call Curupay.
