Has anyone used marine grade varnish to seal a hardwood deck before? The deck that I am planning to build as soon as the weather breaks in Micigan will be made from tigerwood and run up to the edge of my above ground pool. I am concerned about the amount of splash out from the kids and the bleach and salt left behind. The water will also have trace amounts of cynuric acid, muriatic acid and borax.

I am thinking that the oil based sealants used by most of the pros on this site will not hold up well in this enviroment.
