I have an 8 x 35 covered front porch that we are going to cover with 5/4 x 6 ipe. The boards will be run the long length of the porch and the joists are 16" on center. The boards will be face screwed and plugged. We will be ordering the ipe from East Teak. The question I have is what length boards to order for the best look and to minimize waste. Should I go with all 16' footers or random lengths.

What is the best method for laying out the boards to randomize the joints? The front door is centered on the porch.
