You should not have to sand a new tigerwood deck.

Never thought the wood looked red or orange, more of an amber color with dark streaks. Fresh out of the stack it is pretty light colored, but turns amber with sunshine on it.

Any kind of stain/sealer will change the color somewhat, even a clear, which of course is not recommended on outdoor wood.

TWP works for me.

You should not sand the new deck but use a wood deck cleaner and a wood deck brightener. This will open the pores of the wood so the stain will absorb. Sanding the wood too smooth will cause issues with the stain absorbing properly into the wood.

Using a lightly tinted stain will enhance the natural grain of the Tigerwood similar to the pictures.

There are many stains on the market that are designed specifally for dense hardwoods.

TWP Deck Stain is an excellent choice as deckman22 mentioned.
