Any opinions on solar heating for a swimming pool in the DFW area? Is it as effective as gas or electric?

RE: Solar Heating

We live in San Diego CA, solar heating was the best thing we did. We still have gas heater, but solar works better than I though it would.

RE: Solar Heating

We live in Jacksonville and love our solar heat as it is free and automatic. We also have a heat pump and only use this an auxillary backup.

RE: Solar Heating

Thank you. I appreciate it!

RE: Solar Heating

Phoenix here, solar extends our swim time (March-November). I put on a solar cover when the nights get cooler. Generally have water temps in the mid 80's.
Love the solar. Makes pool usable and comfortable 9 months out of the year. Mid summer when the pool gets to warm just from the sun, I run the solar at night and it cools down the pool.
