| The first step - be in onto a sunshelf or onto the first stair - how many inches is too high? Especially if you've got one arthritic, cranky knee?
If I want 8" of water on my shelf, that would make it a 13" drop from the top of the coping to the shelf. Too high? Add a small step? Change the depth of the shelf to 6" thereby making that first step an 11" drop? Thanks. |

| The top step has so little water to aid in buoyancy, I would suggest it be the same depth as a normal step height as found on an interior staircase. Lower steps can be a little taller. |
