We went with hand seeded aggregate because it matches our all Flagstone back patio and kitchen the best in our opinion.
Our PB is Outdoor Living Pool and Patio... Great company, btw !

If I may make a suggestion, and you may already have plans for the area,or if the area of your pool equipment gets adequate sun, so forgive me if I am overstepping.

We had a similar narrow passage area like you do by your AC units and pool equipment, It was a constant muddy mess, as not enough sunlight ever hit the area for grass to grow or dry out the mud.

We eventually put in landscape fabric and then small cobble size river rock (2-3") This has alleviated the muddy mess and is easy to walk on. We liked it so much, we made a rock bed around the pool equipment so we would not have to hand trim the grass around the pipes that run in to the ground from the equipment on the pad.

Isn't it amazing to watch your backyard transform? The worst is trying to keep dirt and dust from coating everything in your house! My ceramic tile floors are constantly gritty right now since we are still in the build process too. Yours pool looking great! The dirtiest part seems to be when the masons come and start cutting the stones. What are you using for your coping and feature wall?

Yes it is! I remember my pool builder stopping by the second summer after our pool was complete. He took one look at the water and said, "That's *just* how you want your water to look. Sparkly." LOL. That was his description for a perfectly balanced, clean pool.
