raising the pool beam

Hello,

We need to raise the beam around our pool - we will need to float below the pool coping (about 1 inch high). Can this just be floated (i think you can put some adhesive between the gunite and the floated part) or do you need to reinforce it with "steel bars" (not sure if this is the right term). Could a cold joint here be a problem? There is quite a difference in costs.... We do not have a lot of freeze-thaw cycles here in CA...
Thank you!

RE: raising the pool beam

You have two choices, you can get thicker coping, or mud up the coping. 1" mud bed done right in CA should not be an issue. No need for steel.
