Pool Closing Questions

Posted by JeremyLin (My Page) on

I just put my inground gunite swimming pool in this year, so this is my first time closing it. I have a Meyco Mesh Cover for the pool that they will be installing. I am having the company that installed it, do the closing. They offer several services as part of the closing, so I'm just trying to figure out what I should or shouldn't let them do. Here is what they offer and the cost:
1 - Closing/Winterization of Pool = $355
2 - Winterization Kit (includes all chemicals for winter) = $110.
3 - Remove Pump for Shop Service = $115
4 - Clean Cartridge Filter = $85
5 - Clean Chlorine Generation Cell = $35
6 - Automatic Cover Pump to Maintain water level in pool = $260
Any thoughts on the above???????

RE: Pool Closing Questions

The closing/winterization and kit sound about equal to what we paid for our first winter. Our service company doesn't do numbers 3-5 so I can't comment on those. Regarding #6, we used a sump pump on the sunshelf last year - $49 at home depot - when we needed to drain more water. good luck!!
