I am planning a pool and hope to do a perimeter fence on my property instead of a fence just around the pool. This plan will include an automated driveway gate. I have been to my building inspector to confirm that this meets the code, but he is reticent to approve it since there is not precedent in our town and it is not clearly spelled out in the building code. Does any one have an automated driveway gate as part of their pool surround? Thanks for any advice. P.S. I live in MA and the code requires a self-latching gate the opens out from the pool. The automated gate closes and locks on its own. Thanks!
